Thélios seeks a Chief Financial Officer, Americas, in New York, USA, to lead financial and IT operations, ensuring strategic growth and operational excellence.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient financial operations with a focus on internal controls and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Direct the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, providing accurate financial insights to senior management.
  • Lead financial controlling activities, including variance analysis, cost control, and profitability analysis to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the General Manager and stakeholders on growth plans.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and identify areas for improvement to optimize profitability.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk to maintain stability and support growth.
  • Oversee accounting activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data and reporting, implementing best practices in financial accounting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, focusing on automation and optimization.
  • Provide financial guidance to other departments to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and information systems security within IT operations.
  • Oversee major IT projects, ensuring alignment with business strategies.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure compliance with deadlines, costs, and quality in IT projects.
  • Drive the integration of new technologies into existing systems.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of the IT budget.
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance and operations team through effective recruitment and development.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration across teams.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders, providing insights to drive business growth.
  • Participate in regional meetings and contribute to broader strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field.
  • CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification is highly preferred.

Skills

Strong expertise in financial controlling, accounting operations, and compliance. In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). Proven experience in establishing and managing internal controls and financial audits. Strong business acumen and outstanding interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data.

Experience

Proven track record of 10 years+ of relevant financial experience with 3 years+ in a leadership role.

Education

Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.

Workplace

This position is based in New York, New York, USA, within easy reach of New York.

Compensation

The hiring range for this position is $175,000-225,000, dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
