Richemont is hiring a Senior Java Software Engineer in Geneva, Switzerland. Join a leading luxury goods company to develop high-performance backend solutions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices for high-performance backend solutions.
  • Ensure seamless integration with various systems, collaborating with Software Engineers, Architects, DevOps, and Product Analysts.
  • Contribute to all phases of development in an Agile environment, including coding, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Optimize CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot production issues to enhance digital systems and customer experience.
  • Provide technical guidance, best practice recommendations, and mentorship to the team.
  • Maintain and improve existing services, ensuring code quality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
  • Collaborate with the Support Team to diagnose and fix production issues.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments with the DevOps Team.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.
  • Translate functional specifications into technical solutions.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Engineers and Test Managers in defining test strategies and automation frameworks.
  • Recommend changes to improve products and solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, ensuring adherence to e-commerce processes and Richemont group standards.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for product features, focusing on security and user experience.
  • Advise on integrating product features with external systems to ensure data consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with global and local security regulations, focusing on data privacy.
  • Coordinate with third-party providers to align product features with external platforms.
  • Provide guidance on developing end-to-end flows for efficient and accurate data handling.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French or other languages is advantageous.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Java Software Engineer.

Skills

Strong expertise in Java (21) and the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, Spring Cloud). Experience with microservices architectures and event-driven systems (ActiveMQ, Solace). Strong understanding of RESTful APIs (Swagger/OpenAPI) and related protocols (JSON, XML, HTTP). Proficiency in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB). Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Groovy). Familiarity with IAM tools (Keycloak, OIDC flows) is a plus. Knowledge of e-Commerce platforms and workflows is a strong advantage. Proficiency in DevOps and tooling, including IntelliJ, Maven, Git, Bitbucket, GitLab, SonarQube, Checkmarx, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multinational, cross-functional teams. Proactive, self-driven, and eager to learn new technologies. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Experience

A minimum of 6 years of experience as a Java Software Engineer, with a strong focus on backend development and microservices architecture.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
