Role & Responsibilities

  • Support the daily operational aspects of the compliance programme, including drafting and updating policies and providing expert advice on AML/KYC/CDD matters.
  • Conduct investigations into non-compliance and implement effective solutions across all APAC markets.
  • Proactively identify potential compliance risks and contribute to the development and implementation of robust processes and controls to mitigate them.
  • Continuously monitor legal and regulatory updates and support regional regulatory change management initiatives.
  • Serve as a key liaison with relevant authorities.
  • Design, develop, and deliver compliance training programmes to foster a strong culture of compliance throughout the region.

Qualifications

  • Qualified lawyer in Hong Kong or other common law jurisdiction with 4+ years PQE.
  • CAMS and other compliance certifications are advantageous.

Skills

Strong knowledge of APAC regulatory compliance laws and enforcement trends. Proven experience in anti-bribery & corruption and whistleblowing. Familiarity with AML/sanctions screening software (e.g., WorldCheck, Integration Point). Experience working with diverse stakeholders on key compliance issues. Experience in a diverse, multi-jurisdiction APAC environment.

Experience

4+ years’ experience in AML/sanctions compliance, preferably within a multinational corporate, financial institution, or law firm.

Education

Qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction.

The successful candidate will be located in Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China, with easy access to Hong Kong.
