Coach in New York, NY seeks a Barista II to deliver specialty coffee service in a luxury retail environment.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality espresso-based and specialty coffee beverages to brand standards, including steaming milk and creating latte art.
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders and other beverage equipment; perform daily cleaning and basic troubleshooting.
  • Deliver elevated, client-focused service within a luxury retail environment, advising customers on beverage selections and in-store offerings.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system and manage cash handling procedures.
  • Support store opening and closing procedures, including setup, inventory replenishment and security checks.
  • Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene and local health regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels of coffee, milk, syrups and consumables; coordinate with store management for reorders and inventory counts.
  • Contribute to visual merchandising and upkeep of café presentation to align with Coach brand standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of professional barista or specialty coffee experience; experience in a premium or luxury setting preferred.
  • Proven ability to operate commercial espresso equipment and grinders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a polished, hospitable manner.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and accurate cash handling.
  • Flexible availability including weekends, evenings and holidays as required by retail operations.
  • Valid work authorization for the country of employment and the ability to meet physical demands of the role.

Experience

At least 1 year of hands-on barista experience in a busy café or retail environment; prior work within luxury retail or premium hospitality is advantageous.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality, culinary or specialty coffee training is a plus.
