Cartier in Geneva is seeking an Assistant Registrar for an 8-month fixed-term role. Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of experience in museums or collections, with strong organizational skills and fluency in French and English.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and manage exhibition dossiers for major exhibitions.
- Monitor the selection process of pieces and confirm their availability.
- Coordinate installation and dismantling schedules with institutions.
- Prepare dossiers for events, ensuring piece availability and allocation.
- Clarify loan conditions for institutional and private loans, including terms, dates, and locations.
- Create and manage loan dossiers, ensuring availability and selection validation.
- Draft and oversee loan contracts in collaboration with legal, institutional, security, and insurance departments.
- Organize and manage the movement of pieces between storage locations.
- Prepare pieces for exhibitions and visits.
- Actively participate in inventory management.
- Manage and prepare condition reports, ensuring data accuracy.
- Administer two databases, liaising with IT and the team.
- Supervise conservation conditions and handling of objects in storage and exhibition locations.
Qualifications
- Degree in business/management; specialized training in heritage management or art registration is a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a museum, collection, or foundation.
