Guerlain in Orphin, France seeks an Analytical Laboratory Technician (Apprenticeship) for raw material and fragrance analysis — work‑study position.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non‑routine analytical testing of raw materials, concentrates and finished fragrance juices following SOPs and after site training/habilitation.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation used for fragrance and raw material analysis (gas chromatography, spectrometry, refractometry, density and alcohol content measurements).
  • Prepare samples, document test conditions and record results with traceability in laboratory notebooks and quality systems.
  • Contribute to site quality culture by participating in quality checks, corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives and laboratory housekeeping.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety rules, calibration schedules and instrument qualification programs.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a BTS, DUT or Licence Professionnelle with a specialization in Chemistry (work‑study / alternance).
  • Permis de conduire (driver’s license) and personal vehicle required due to limited public transport access to the site.
  • Demonstrable analytical mindset, curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Autonomous, proactive and rigorous working style with strong organisational skills and a hands‑on approach.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with production and quality teams.
