Tapestry Director of Senior Counsel, Employment and Labor

- Serve as a key legal advisor on employment law, employee relations matters, and policy interpretation.
- Provide strategic legal and business advice to Human Resources partners on employee relations, compliance, and various employment law issues.
- Draft, develop, and implement workplace policies in collaboration with Human Resources and other business functions.
- Design, conduct, and manage workplace investigations and litigation hold processes.
- Evaluate and communicate legal risks associated with complaints, grievances, and other legal matters.
- Manage and work with outside counsel on employment-related lawsuits and government proceedings.
- Draft position statements for the EEOC, state human rights organizations, and DOL.
- Conduct e-discovery and document reviews, representing the company in litigations and before administrative agencies.
- Negotiate and draft settlement agreements concerning employment-related matters.
- Develop training materials and provide training on employment law issues and policies.
- Monitor employment-related legislation to ensure company policies remain compliant.
- Draft offer letters, employment agreements, and severance agreements.
- JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
- Admission to the New York State Bar or eligibility to waive into it.
- At least seven years of related experience, including law firm and/or in-house experience.
- Broad knowledge of federal and state employment laws and litigation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and executive presence.
- Ability to negotiate and problem solve effectively.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- High level of integrity with strong decision-making skills.
A minimum of seven years of related experience in employment law, including both law firm and in-house environments, with a comprehensive understanding of federal and state employment laws.
JD from an accredited law school.
Base pay range from $145,000.00 to $217,000.00 annually.
