- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of products, fabrics, trims, and their performance and suitability in relation to construction and functionality.
- Dispatch precise and timely technical comments and graded specifications for production, maintaining daily communication with vendors at all stages from prototype to production.
- Identify opportunities for cost engineering to enhance or maintain profit margins.
- Advise on care labels and disclaimers, and resolve test failures.
- Lead cross-functional meetings and collaborate closely with raw materials development, regulatory merchandise, design, product development, and sourcing teams.
- Degree-level education with demonstrated industry experience.
- Extensive knowledge of Jersey, fibres and yarns, fabric terminology, manufacture, finishes, modifications, blends and properties, fabric inspection, faults and defects.
- Strong understanding of children's fit, non-lateral body growth, sizing, silhouette, grading, lay plans, tolerances, and pattern adaptations.
- Proficiency in children's safety requirements and regulations with experience in risk mitigation product assessment.
- Highly organized with the ability to independently manage multiple tasks and projects, adhering to deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Demonstrated industry experience in a similar role, with a strong background in childrenswear technology and product lifecycle management.
Degree-level education in a relevant field.
