Richemont Watchmaking Apprentice

- Train under experienced watchmakers to learn movement assembly, disassembly, servicing and regulation according to maison standards.
- Perform precision tasks including parts cleaning, lubrication, timing, and adjustment of mechanical movements under supervision.
- Develop hand-finishing and polishing techniques for components and external parts following quality and aesthetic benchmarks.
- Operate and learn to interpret results from diagnostic equipment (e.g. timegrapher, demagnetizer, ultrasonic cleaner) and maintain tool calibration.
- Keep accurate work records and a training logbook; complete assigned technical modules and practical assessments.
- Follow strict quality-control procedures and participate in final inspection and testing of repaired or assembled timepieces.
- Maintain a tidy, secure bench environment and observe safety, anti-static and contamination control protocols.
- Collaborate with service, parts and quality teams to escalate technical issues and learn troubleshooting methodologies.
- Strong manual dexterity and fine motor control suitable for micromechanical work.
- Keen attention to detail and high standards for finish and precision.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and aptitude for technical learning.
- Willingness to enroll in and commit to a formal apprenticeship or vocational training program.
- Ability to follow technical drawings and written procedures accurately.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States (if applicable).
- Movement assembly and disassembly (mechanical calibres)
- Use of loupe and fine hand tools (screwdrivers, tweezers, peg wood)
- Timegrapher usage and interpretation of timing graphs
- Ultrasonic cleaning machines and demagnetizer operation
- Micromechanics and hand-finishing techniques (polishing, beveling)
- Reading technical drawings and assembly schematics
- Basic parts identification and inventory control
No prior professional watchmaking experience is required; mechanical hobbyist experience or completion of introductory horology or vocational courses is advantageous.
High school diploma or equivalent. Enrollment in or willingness to join a recognised watchmaking apprenticeship, vocational school or technical programme is preferred.
