- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams for retail solution architecture.
- Lead the architectural design of digital retail solutions, including SAP Retail, POS systems, and e-commerce integration.
- Provide architectural leadership and decision-making in global transformation programs and large-scale deployments.
- Ensure alignment of solution designs with enterprise architecture standards and industry best practices.
- Define and enforce architectural governance, guiding principles, and reusable patterns within the product area.
- Support the evaluation of build vs. buy decisions and contribute to vendor/product assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural consistency and data integrity across systems.
- Provide hands-on support in solution modeling, documentation, and review of technical specifications.
- Develop and monitor technical roadmaps aligned with business capabilities and digital transformation goals.
- Lead the creation and documentation of high-level solution designs, including system integration flows.
- Participate in cut-over planning, system migration strategies, and infrastructure setup when relevant.
- Coordinate with support teams to ensure architectural traceability into operational procedures and tools.
- Support continuous improvement of support, DevOps, and delivery practices within the Retail domain.
- Review and validate proposed solutions from delivery teams to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Identify interdependencies and ensure solutions fit into the overall retail landscape by working closely with other architects and integration teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- TOGAF or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required; other languages (e.g., French, Italian, Chinese) are a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a proven track record in large-scale digital transformation and retail systems.
- Proficiency in SAP Retail (including S/4HANA), CRM, and integration with POS systems.
- Hands-on experience in omnichannel retail solution design and delivery.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and tools (SAP Cloud, AWS, Azure).
- Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns, event-driven architecture, APIs, and microservices.
- Experience with tools and technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in system modeling techniques and architectural documentation.
- Experience in security, identity management (SSO), and compliance considerations for global rollouts.
- Strong understanding of retail business processes including point of sale (POS), inventory management, and clienteling.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business domains.
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities in complex environments.
- High degree of autonomy, accountability, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Maturity and sense of ownership in end-to-end solution delivery.
- Ability to negotiate and influence decisions with a customer-centric and pragmatic approach.
- Proactive mindset, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a demanding retail context.
- Strong presentation and visualization skills to convey architecture strategies to varied audiences.
10+ years of experience in solution architecture, with a proven track record in large-scale digital transformation and retail systems.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
