Responsibilities
- Develop innovative designs consistent with the briefs set by the commercial team and Artistic Director.
- Understand the Christian Dior Men Customer and brand positioning, including self-directed market research in both Dior and competitor stores.
- Work cross-functionally and timely with Design to determine style, materials, color, and to develop a successful product.
- Operate within the given design calendar timelines and ensure that all Design boards are done timely and meet the calendar deadlines set by the Design Director and Head of Leather Goods.
- Collaborate closely with other design team members to help design a cohesive collection that sits well with the runway show.
- Research and stay on top of current trends & apply trends to product design.
- Research & source materials and components for feedback and inspiration.
- Identify opportunities and make suggestions for process improvement.
Qualifications
- Graduate with a degree in The Arts, Fashion, or specifically Leather Goods or Product Design.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing Leather Goods for a luxury fashion or high-end company.
Skills
- Eye for detail and considers functionality as key throughout the design process.
- Strong sense of color, fashion, product & trend.
- Strong knowledge of design & product development process, especially in Leather Goods.
- Collaborative nature to ensure design continuity throughout both the catwalk and commercial collections.
- Organized and independent, especially in terms of time management.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Competent skills in Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign.
- Fluent in English; French and Italian would be a plus.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 3 years in designing Leather Goods for a luxury fashion or high-end company, ideally with a significantly large collection.
Education Requirements
Graduate with a degree in The Arts, Fashion, or specifically Leather Goods or Product Design.
