Cheval Blanc Commis Sommelier

- Manage daily operations within the sommelier service.
- Advise guests on wine and spirits selections to enhance sales and ensure optimal satisfaction.
- Ensure accurate billing and payment processing in coordination with the supervisor.
- Oversee operational setup, control, and restocking of the wine cellar.
- Maintain inventory and stock management in collaboration with the purchasing department.
- Welcome guests and provide exceptional service to optimize revenue.
- Participate in order taking, transmission, and service of beverages and possibly dishes.
- Assist in clearing and resetting tables.
- Promote various services and products within the hotel and Cheval Blanc properties.
- Perform cleaning tasks according to hotel procedures.
- Manage linen setup, renewal, and supply.
- Report any unusual situations regarding safety or potential accidents to management.
- Diploma in sommellerie such as Bac Pro Service et Commercialisation, Bac STHR, BP Sommellerie, MC Sommellerie, or WSET Level 4.
- Knowledge of HACCP hygiene standards.
- Understanding of beverage service legislation.
- Familiarity with luxury hospitality or Michelin-starred dining environments.
- Strong foundation in gastronomy and the world of sommellerie and oenology.
- Excellent interpersonal and representational skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with courtesy and tact.
- Empathy and proactive problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail, precision, and organizational skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability.
- Team spirit and a desire to advance in hospitality and dining professions.
- Proficiency in sales and communication.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Proficiency in a third language (Arabic, Russian, Chinese, Portuguese) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Micros.
A minimum of 3 years of significant experience in sommellerie within a similar high-end establishment is required.
Diploma in sommellerie or related field.
