Join Chanel in Kuala Lumpur as a Senior Accountant. This full-time position offers a dynamic role in financial accounting and reporting within the luxury fashion industry.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly financial closing tasks for specific financial activities such as fixed assets, lease accounting, and bank reconciliation.
  • Assist in month-end closing processes, including adjustment journals, depreciation journals, and balance sheet preparation.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements, including local stock counts and asset audits.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and apply relevant statutory reporting standards.
  • Handle inquiries from external parties such as auditors and tax agents.
  • Maintain and update Chanel's Chart of Accounts.
  • Identify and escalate inappropriate behaviors or non-compliance issues.
  • Articulate system issues to experts for resolution and adopt new technological tools.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or higher in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Student member or member of professional accounting bodies such as ACCA.

Skills

Proficiency in English, both oral and written. Expertise in month-end closing processes and financial operations. Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Adaptability to new knowledge and skills.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the retail sector.

Education

Diploma or above in Accounting or equivalent.
