Chanel Senior Accountant, Accounting & Reporting

- Lead and execute month-end close activities for the Malaysia entity, ensuring timely and accurate general ledger postings and reconciliations.
- Prepare statutory and management financial reports, variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate and deliver accounting deliverables in compliance with IFRS / MFRS and local regulatory requirements.
- Support statutory and internal audits, including preparation of schedules, responses to auditor queries and remediation of audit findings.
- Maintain and improve accounting controls, processes and documentation to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.
- Liaise with tax, treasury and regional finance teams to ensure alignment on reporting, intercompany transactions and regulatory filings.
- Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff and contribute to cross-functional finance projects and system implementations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification preferred (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
- Demonstrable experience with month-end close, reconciliations and statutory reporting.
- Strong analytical capability, attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with auditors, tax advisors and business stakeholders.

Typically 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on responsibility for financial reporting, reconciliations and audit liaison. Experience in retail, luxury goods, or consumer goods finance is an advantage.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) preferred.
