Chanel is hiring a Knitwear Quality Inspector in Florence (Osmannoro) to manage inspections and ensure knitwear meets technical and brand standards.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Conduct incoming, in-process and final inspections of knitwear against technical packs, dimensional charts and approved samples.
  • Identify, classify and document defects (gauge issues, runs, holes, seam/finish faults, colour or dimensional non-conformities) and apply AQL/acceptance criteria.
  • Measure garments and components using precision tools and record measurements in quality reports and inspection databases.
  • Liaise with production, pattern and sample teams to investigate root causes and implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
  • Prepare clear inspection reports, non-conformance notices and trend analyses; escalate recurring quality issues to management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by proposing process, material or workmanship improvements to reduce rejects and rework.
  • Participate in supplier audits and on-site technical trainings to ensure compliance with brand standards and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Proven technical knowledge of knit construction, yarns and garment manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical packs, size/tolerance charts and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and systematic approach to defect classification and measurement.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with production and vendor partners.
  • Familiarity with quality management methodologies and inspection protocols (AQL); experience with corrective action workflows.

Experience
