Chanel — Intellectual Property Intern in Geneva. Summer internship (July 2026) supporting trademark, design and copyright portfolio management within Chanel's legal team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Support management of the global trademark, design and copyright portfolio, including docketing, renewals and accurate record-keeping.
  • Conduct clearance searches and preliminary IP research and analysis for product launches, campaigns and collaborations.
  • Prepare and file routine administrative documents and correspondence with national and international IP offices and registries.
  • Assist in coordination with external counsel on oppositions, litigation matters and prosecution strategy; organise case files and related invoices.
  • Draft summaries, legal memos and presentations for internal stakeholders and support monitoring of third-party activity and potential infringements.
  • Maintain IP trackers and databases to ensure compliance with deadlines and internal procedures.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a law degree (LLB, JD or Master's) with coursework or demonstrable interest in intellectual property law.
  • Strong academic record, analytical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional legal context; high standards of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Available to work full-time during the July 2026 internship period and able to commit to the internship duration.
  • Right to work in Switzerland or ability to obtain necessary work authorisation for the internship period.

Experience

Previous internship or practical experience in a law firm or an in-house legal/IP team is advantageous but not mandatory; practical exposure to trademark or copyright work will be viewed favourably.

Education

Current enrolment in a recognised law programme (LLB, JD or Master's) with an interest or coursework in intellectual property law.
