- Develop and program tool paths for small component machining on a 5-axis CNC machine.
- Define machining strategies, fixtures, and cutting tools in collaboration with the CNC Machining Setter.
- Participate in the redesign of CAD models and dimensioned plans for machining.
- Collaborate with CAD constructors to review 3D models and component plans.
- Manage the industrialization schedule of machined parts, including machining ranges and fixture design.
- Program CAM for tool paths and oversee fixture fabrication, both internally and externally.
- Select cutting tools and manage contacts with carbide suppliers in collaboration with the Setter.
- Determine cutting parameters and maintain the cutting tool and parameter library in the CAM software.
- Read and modify NC programs in ISO code.
- Inspect machined parts and provide technical support for machining.
- Read dimensioned ISO GPS plans and define appropriate control methods.
- Utilize workshop control tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and profile projectors.
- Provide technical support to the Setter for CNC 5-axis setup and program adjustments.
- Proficiency in CAM programming and CNC machining.
- Experience with 5-axis CNC machines.
- Ability to read and interpret ISO GPS dimensioned plans.
- Advanced knowledge of CAM software and CNC programming.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and cutting tool selection.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Several years of experience in CAM programming and CNC machining, particularly with 5-axis machines, is required.
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
