- Program tool paths (CAM) and participate in the machining of small components on a 5-axis CNC machine.
- Define machining strategies, fixtures, and cutting tools.
- Participate in the redesign of CAD models and dimensioned plans for machining.
- Collaborate with CAD designers to review 3D models and component plans.
- Manage the industrialization schedule of machined parts, including machining processes and fixture design.
- Determine machining processes and strategies.
- Design and model necessary fixtures in CAD for various machining phases.
- Create CAM programs for tool paths.
- Design fixtures and oversee their production internally or externally.
- Select cutting tools and manage contacts with carbide suppliers.
- Determine cutting parameters and manage the CAM software library of cutting tools and parameters.
- Read and modify NC programs in ISO code.
- Inspect machined parts and provide technical support for machining.
- Read dimensioned ISO GPS plans and define appropriate inspection methods.
- Use workshop inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and profile projectors.
- Provide technical support to the CNC operator for setup and inspection of parts and program corrections.
- Proficiency in CAM programming
- Knowledge of CNC 5-axis machining
- Ability to read and modify NC programs in ISO code
- Familiarity with CAD software
- Strong understanding of machining processes and strategies
- Experience with inspection tools and methods
Experience in CNC programming and machining, particularly with 5-axis machines, is required.
