Responsibilities
- Collaborate with management on the responsible procurement of gemstones, supplier communication, and pricing for assigned categories.
- Review, manage, and communicate procurement changes in priorities and scope to cross-functional teams such as Product Development.
- Ensure data integrity throughout the procurement process.
- Collaborate with the Gemstone Grading Lab and Operations to eliminate bottlenecks and improve gemstone flow.
- Partner with senior analysts and management to monitor and communicate priority orders to grading.
- Ensure timely processing of payments to suppliers and address issues with management.
- Align procurement responsibilities while maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Support management in all aspects of responsible sourcing and sustainability.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and assist in maintaining security and safety.
- Partner with management to research and facilitate product development projects.
- Ensure product samples meet parameters by accurately assessing samples.
- Provide buying support for stone procurement as needed for launches.
- Propose innovative solutions to project-related problems.
- Develop and maintain Product Style Sheets for graders.
- Partner with the grading team to provide guidance on grading parameters for new products.
- Initiate call outs to procured gemstones/pearls to maintain feedback with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain gemological knowledge of industry trends and developments.
- Interpret complex design requests to provide gemstone re-cutting recommendations.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Creative and analytical skills.
- Ability to think strategically and independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated partnership.
- Familiarity with grading lab practices and procedures.
- Proficiency in J.D. Edwards, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to photograph stones.
- Compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of grading laboratory equipment.

Minimum 3 years
Education Requirements
Graduate Gemologist Degree preferred
Compensation
The hiring range for this position is $70,125.00 - $82,500.00, dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
