Swiss Timing IT Systems Electronics Apprentice

- Complete a structured vocational apprenticeship in IT systems electronics with hands-on training in installation, configuration and maintenance of IT hardware and system components.
- Assemble and test cabling, servers, workstations, timing and broadcast-related equipment; ensure reliable connectivity and power management for event deployments.
- Support on-site technical operations during national and international sporting events, including system setup, monitoring, troubleshooting and rapid fault resolution under live conditions.
- Document installations, perform routine preventive maintenance and assist with inventory control of technical assets and spare parts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (timing, broadcast, data services) to integrate systems and meet operational specifications; follow safety and quality procedures at all times.
- Secondary school diploma (Realschule) or equivalent; good numeracy and technical aptitude.
- Strong manual dexterity and practical problem-solving skills; interest in electronics, IT and live-event technology.
- Willingness to travel and work irregular hours during events, including weekends and evenings.
- Positive attitude, reliability and ability to function in high-pressure, team-oriented environments.
- Hardware installation and assembly (PCs, servers, peripheral devices)
- Network cabling and basic LAN setup (Ethernet)
- Troubleshooting hardware and basic software issues
- Technical documentation and asset tracking
- Ability to follow electrical and safety protocols
No prior professional experience required; suited to school leavers or candidates with vocational interest in IT/electronics. Practical hobby experience (e.g. building PCs, basic networking) is advantageous.
Secondary school diploma (Realschule) or equivalent; technical/vocational subjects preferred.
