- Lead the performance engineering practice for Sephora’s digital systems, ensuring high-performance, high-availability, and scalable architecture.
- Design and execute performance testing strategies including load, stress, spike, and soak testing, as well as capacity planning and bottleneck analysis.
- Integrate Chaos Engineering practices to validate system resilience under failure conditions using tools like Gremlin and Chaos Mesh.
- Build and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks for performance-related metrics using platforms such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and Dynatrace.
- Collaborate on continuous-delivery pipelines to embed performance checks, automated regression testing, and performance gating.
- Drive root-cause analysis after performance incidents, propose remediations, and ensure preventive engineering.
- 8+ years of significant hands-on responsibility for performance, scalability, and architecture of large, high-traffic systems.
- 8+ years of expertise in ensuring stability, reliability, and performance of mission-critical software applications in production environments.
- 8+ years of experience with monitoring, observability, and performance management tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, and AppDynamics.
- 8+ years of proven track record in performance engineering, log analysis, anomaly detection, and troubleshooting of distributed systems.
- 2+ years of prior experience in a retail, e-commerce, or analogous high-scale environment preferred.
- Expertise in performance testing and monitoring tools such as JMeter, BlazeMeter, LoadRunner, and Gatling.
- Strong programming and scripting skills in languages like Java, Python, and Groovy.
- Experience with microservices, APIs, Docker/Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify bottlenecks and optimize systems.
- Leadership and collaboration skills to lead teams, mentor engineers, and work closely with DevOps and SRE teams.
8+ years of experience in performance engineering, particularly in high-traffic systems and mission-critical software applications.
The annual base salary range for this position is $173,610.00 - $192,900.00, with eligibility for bonuses.
