- Develop and run numerical simulations of thin‑film multilayer stacks to achieve target colours and optical responses.
- Design and implement algorithms that incorporate surface roughness effects into optical response models.
- Analyse simulation outputs to identify key parameters influencing measured spectra (interfaces, alloys, density, etc.).
- Plan and execute experimental validation tests to confront theoretical models with laboratory measurements.
- Compile and present a written end‑of‑internship report documenting methods, results and conclusions.
- Currently enrolled in a Master's programme in materials physics, optics or an equivalent discipline.
- Academic project or significant coursework in optical simulation, preferably using FEM or BEM methods.
- Strong programming proficiency in Matlab, Python and/or C++.
- Familiarity with thin‑film deposition processes (ALD, PVD, PECVD) is an advantage.
- Scientific curiosity, analytical rigour and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Good interpersonal skills; proactive, autonomous and able to integrate into multidisciplinary teams.

Academic experience or project work in optical simulation and modelling of thin films, ideally employing finite element or boundary element techniques; laboratory experience validating simulations against experimental measurements is desirable.
