Rolex Mechanical / Robotics Intern — Generative AI for Watch Component Design

- Perform numerical simulations of watch systems and components to characterise physical behaviours and constraints.
- Develop and implement generative AI / machine‑learning algorithms that leverage simulation outputs to propose and optimise component geometries and physical properties.
- Analyse simulation and algorithmic results to identify design improvements and trade-offs between manufacturability, mechanical performance and tolerances.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary watchmaking and engineering teams to integrate computational findings into prototype development and validation.
- Document methodologies, present results to technical stakeholders and contribute actionable recommendations for subsequent R&D efforts.
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics or equivalent.
- Practical competence in numerical simulation methods and model-based analysis of mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence / machine‑learning concepts, with interest or experience in generative models and algorithm development.
- Strong interest in precision mechanics and horology; meticulous, autonomous and methodical working approach.
- Creative thinker with the ability to propose innovative solutions and to communicate technical findings clearly.

Enrolment in a relevant Master’s programme; prior academic or internship experience applying numerical simulation and/or machine‑learning to mechanical design is advantageous.
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics or equivalent (current enrolment required).
