1. Produce Purdey shotguns and rifles to meet all orders on time, within budget, and to the required quality standard.
2. Assist in the development of products, technology, tooling, and processes to maintain and further the highest standards of craftsmanship.
3. Engage in all craftsmanship and machining processes involved in the production of Purdey’s firearms.
4. Provide assistance, feedback, and advice during CAD/CAM development in the Technical department.
5. Continuously seek new processes, tooling, and methods to improve quality and reliability.
6. Support Craft managers in organizing and developing workshop activities.
7. Strive for continuous improvement in quality, productivity, output, and teamwork.
8. Explain the craft process to visitors and customers in a positive and courteous manner.
9. Ensure a safe working environment by following procedures and using safety equipment.
10. Participate in achieving the highest standards of quality in finished guns and rifles, aiming to reduce rework.
11. Contribute to the continuous improvement and achievement of the production schedule.
12. Assist in acquiring current and new tooling to optimize quality and cost while maintaining the brand's bespoke reputation.
13. Support the implementation of processes and procedures to achieve company objectives.
14. Assist with the cost-effective and timely maintenance of factory equipment and machinery.
15. Safeguard all information to maintain the intellectual property and product excellence of Purdey products.

1. Time-served Gunmaking Apprentice, ideally certified by The London Proof House.
2. New craft apprentices with a BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject are favored.
3. Sound craft knowledge in their specialist area and a broad knowledge of gunmaking.

1. Organized and positive with a commitment to improving and developing the Purdey range of products.
2. Good communication, teamwork, and motivation skills.
3. Strong work ethic, able to achieve required output while maintaining high quality standards.
4. Effective interaction with all levels within the company and with customers.
5. Capable problem solver demonstrating resourcefulness.

Experience in gunmaking with a focus on craftsmanship and machining processes.

BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
