Hermès Patternmaker / Garment Mechanic

- Fabricate and assemble complex garments by hand and machine (jackets, coats, trousers, hybrid fabric/leather pieces) in accordance with the Artistic Director's stylistic intent and Hermès quality standards.
- Prepare and assemble components: cutting, skiving (parage), mounting and finishing; operate both hand techniques and industrial machines as required.
- Perform delicate operations to guarantee perfect drape and fit; verify symmetry, comfort, sharpness and overall quality at each stage and control completed work.
- Recommend and propose suitable finishes to patternmakers based on material quality and garment type; adapt techniques to different materials including fine leathers and fur.
- Operate and maintain workshop machinery (surjeteuse, piqueuse plate, pareuse, refendeuse, machine fourrure) and ensure correct use of skiving and splitting equipment.
- Identify production difficulties, raise alerts and propose practical solutions to maintain delivery and quality targets.
- Respect and enforce the house's defined quality grades and production standards; contribute to continuous improvement in the atelier.
- Confirmed expertise in leather mounting and assembly with an intimate knowledge of delicate and complex materials.
- Excellent mastery of leather fabrication techniques and hand-finishing processes.
- Proven ability to work on unique pieces and special orders with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills, proactivity and rigour in execution.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, team orientation, autonomy and availability for atelier production schedules.
- Practical mastery of: surjeteuse, piqueuse plate, pareuse, refendeuse and machine fourrure.

Minimum 6 years of professional experience in couture or luxury garment production, with demonstrable experience in leather assembly and complex sample-making.
Vocational diploma or apprenticeship in fashion, tailoring, leatherwork or equivalent hands-on training in garment manufacture.
