Hermès Laboratory Technician

Tannerie de Montereau is a specialist tannery and a subsidiary of Hermès Cuirs Précieux, recognised for high‑end expertise in exotic leathers and rigorous production control. The site operates within the Hermès ecosystem and places strong emphasis on craftsmanship, traceability and regulatory compliance.

1. Perform daily analytical testing on leather, chemical products and water in accordance with established methods and the laboratory management system.
2. Register and log incoming samples, prepare samples and execute analyses according to defined SOPs.
3. Operate chromatographic and spectrophotometric instrumentation (HPLC, GC‑MS, LC‑MS, spectrophotometry) and process analytical data.
4. Compile, review and issue test reports; record analysis conditions and maintain traceability of results.
5. Support day‑to‑day laboratory operations: manage consumable stocks, perform routine maintenance and cleaning, and organise sample storage and handling.
6. Contribute to continuous improvement of the quality and safety management systems (ISO 17025), including updates to SOPs, procedures and internal documentation.
7. Communicate with the laboratory team to propose organisational, quality or safety improvements and participate in team exchanges.

1. Associate degree (Bac+2) in Chemistry or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum 2 years' experience in an analytical laboratory; candidates with less experience may be considered.
3. Demonstrated ability to work methodically to SOPs and conform to laboratory good practices.
4. Strong analytical mindset, organisational skills, teamwork, initiative and a practical, safety‑minded approach.
5. Capacity to write and revise technical documentation in compliance with accreditation requirements (ISO 17025).
