Hermès Archivist Apprentice

- Process and arrange institutional archival fonds following established archival principles and departmental procedures.
- Create and maintain descriptive metadata and catalogue records to ensure discoverability and long-term preservation of collections.
- Contribute to the production of scientific and technical content for internal reference, research dossiers and heritage communication.
- Assist the archivist responsible for oral archives in the analysis, indexing and technical handling of audio files.
- Support digitization, conservation handling and the centralization of incoming archival material from various Maison entities.
- Provide internal reference and research support to colleagues and assist in preparation of materials for exhibitions or internal presentations.
- Enrolment in a Master 2 program in archival science, archival studies, or history of cultural heritage.
- Previous experience in a corporate, public-sector or documentation service environment (internship or entry-level role).
- Exceptional organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and strong sense of service.
- Cultural literacy in art and history, with an aptitude for working with heritage collections.
- Archival processing and fonds management
- Cataloguing and metadata creation for archival collections
- Handling and basic conservation practices for paper and mixed media
- Analysis and processing of oral-history/audio files
- Production of scientific/technical documentation and finding aids
- Familiarity with digitisation workflows and digital asset handling
Some prior practical experience in archives, documentation or museum/heritage services is required; beginners and recent graduates enrolled in an M2 programme are invited to apply.
Master 2 (or equivalent) in Archival Studies, Heritage Studies, Museology or History of Cultural Heritage.
