Responsibilities
- Assist the Sourcing/Development/Purchasing Manager in fabric selection, availability requests, and verification of prices, minimums, deadlines, and certifications.
- Propose print base options and liaise with printers and the graphic studio.
- Conduct purchasing and supply of material samples, type cuts, and type pieces for mock-ups, prototypes, and SMS.
- Create and maintain the fabric and dye order table for the season.
- Negotiate prices, minimums, and deadlines, and propose substitutes to optimize purchasing or production conditions.
- Dispatch materials according to factory needs for model launches.
- Create material codes and update information in the PLM system.
- Collect technical specifications of fabrics and coordinate potential material tests with the quality manager.
- Monitor billing of orders and development services via ESKER/order table.
- Centralize fabric traceability information to comply with AGEC law and LVMH LIFE 360° program.
- Participate in fabric-to-sketch assignments.
- Manage collection stocks and inventory of carry-over materials.
- Lead fabric extraction from PLM for pre-purchase meetings.
- Prepare material archives, production handover files, and swatches for merchandising and production teams.
Qualifications
- Higher education in textile engineering, fashion school, business school, or equivalent university education with strong material knowledge.
- Significant experience in fabric purchasing and/or material development/sourcing.
Skills
- Dynamic and organized with strong proposal skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with both external and internal contacts.
- Fluent in English; Italian is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Proficient in PLM and fabric stock management on SAP.
