Galeries Lafayette Sustainability Officer (Alternance)

- Support the design and execution of the company’s sustainability and CSR roadmap across product, supply chain and retail operations.
- Collect, validate and analyse environmental and social data for internal reporting and regulatory disclosures (energy, waste, water, emissions).
- Assist with GHG inventory compilation and coordinate data flows for carbon footprinting and reduction programmes.
- Contribute to sustainability reporting (internal dashboards and external frameworks such as GRI/CDP) and prepare materials for senior stakeholders.
- Coordinate with suppliers, factories and internal teams to drive compliance with sustainability policies and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Participate in sustainability audits, certifications and supplier engagement campaigns; track corrective actions and KPI delivery.
- Support internal communications and training on sustainability topics and help mobilise cross‑functional project teams.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university programme (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in environmental science, sustainability, CSR, engineering, or a related discipline suitable for an alternance contract.
- Solid analytical ability with experience handling quantitative data and producing concise reports.
- Strong organisational and project‑management aptitude, able to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
- Commitment to sustainability principles and a pragmatic approach to implementing operational improvements.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills appropriate for interfacing with suppliers and internal business partners.
- GHG accounting fundamentals (familiarity with GHG Protocol principles)
- Sustainability reporting concepts (GRI, CDP awareness)
- Data collection and analysis (advanced Excel skills and spreadsheet modelling)
- Project coordination and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to produce clear presentations and management summaries
Work‑study candidates with prior internships or academic projects in sustainability, CSR or environmental management preferred; full professional experience is not required.
Enrolment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s programme in sustainability, environmental science/engineering, CSR, or an allied field (required for alternance).
