Galeries Lafayette Assistant Buyer — Jewellery (Work‑Study / Alternance)

- Support the buying team in day‑to‑day procurement operations, including creation and follow‑up of purchase orders and supplier confirmations.
- Assist with costing, margin analysis and price reconciliation for collections and new product proposals.
- Coordinate sampling, quality control and delivery schedules with suppliers, ateliers and internal production teams.
- Maintain product and supplier data in ERP and Excel, ensuring file accuracy for orders, lead times and invoicing.
- Contribute to supplier sourcing and market research — monitor trends, materials and competitive assortments.
- Prepare purchasing dossiers and cross‑functional briefs for design, merchandising and logistics teams.
- Current enrolment in a bachelor’s or master’s programme in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Fashion Business, Luxury Management or equivalent (work‑study/alternance eligible).
- Strong numerical aptitude and proven accuracy in data handling.
- Demonstrable interest in fine jewellery, gemstones and precious metals.
- Legal eligibility for an alternance contract in the host country and availability for the full programme duration.
- Professional attitude, discretion and respect for confidentiality in dealing with suppliers and designs.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Cegid) — data entry and PO management
- Purchase order management and supplier follow‑up
- Product costing and margin analysis
- Supplier negotiation and commercial correspondence
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to synthesise market research into actionable buying input
Typically 0–1 year of related experience; previous internships or short placements in purchasing, merchandising or retail — preferably in fashion or jewellery — are strongly valued.
Enrolment in a relevant higher education programme (Bachelor’s/Master’s) in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Fashion/Luxury Business or equivalent; work‑study (alternance) contract required.
