Fashion Group Finance Project Manager

- Strategically lead and execute finance and accounting projects to enhance financial efficiency.
- Support financial operations across six individual Maisons and one back-office division.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with group rules and regulations.
- Identify and suggest operational improvements for process optimization within the finance function.
- Lead the planning, execution, and closure of finance and accounting projects, including system implementations and process reengineering.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Manage project teams, assign tasks, and monitor progress to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
- Implement change management strategies to facilitate the adoption of new systems and processes.
- Oversee the implementation, configuration, and integration of new financial systems.
- Collaborate with IT, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless system functionality and data integrity.
- Analyze existing finance and accounting processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Design and implement optimized processes leveraging best practices and technological solutions.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Communicate project updates, challenges, and successes effectively to all relevant parties.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and meetings to gather requirements and ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Understand key tasks performed by the accounting team across GL, AP, AR, and Tax functions.
- Implement and manage a robust cross-training program for accounting team members.
- Provide leadership, temporary coverage, and support to ensure continuity of operations for vacant positions.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant Master's degree is a plus.
- More than 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or audit roles, with at least 3 years in a project management capacity.
- Proven experience in leading successful finance and accounting system implementations.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and change management.
- Proficiency in financial software and project management tools.
- Fluent in Japanese and English.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
- Team-oriented with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive attitude with strong analytical and synthetic skills.
- Ability to work under stress and manage time effectively.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or audit roles, with at least 3 years in project management.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant Master's degree is a plus.
