ETA Mobile Robotics & Production Robots Intern
ETA SA Manufacture Horlogère Suisse is a leading Swiss movement manufacturer and a production company within the Swatch Group. The organisation specialises in the design and manufacture of high-precision watch movements, components and automated production systems, combining traditional watchmaking craft with advanced industrial engineering.
- Support the Automation department in the design, integration and commissioning of mobile robotics and industrial robot cells for watch movement production.
- Program, test and validate robot sequences and automation routines under supervision; perform iterative adjustments to optimise cycle times and reliability.
- Conduct on-site functional tests, troubleshooting and calibration of sensors, grippers and control interfaces in a regulated production environment.
- Document technical procedures, test protocols and commissioning reports; contribute to technical dossiers for production transfer.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, process engineers and operators) to ensure seamless installation and safe operation of automation equipment.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong theoretical grounding in robotics, kinematics and control systems.
- Basic programming ability (Python, C/C++ or equivalent) and familiarity with automation logic.
- Practical, hands-on aptitude for mechanical and electrical assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
- Methodical work style, attention to detail and ability to produce clear technical documentation.

Academic projects, laboratory work or prior internships involving robotics, automation or machine integration; practical experience with programming and hands‑on commissioning is desirable but not mandatory for the internship.
Enrollment in a relevant engineering degree (BSc or MSc) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automation or Electrical Engineering.
