1. Identify and source colored gemstones for unique collections and opportunistic purchases, ensuring quality standards, margin optimization, delivery timelines, and stock management.
2. Prepare and coordinate Research & Development sessions with the Creative Director and Marketing team.
3. Manage the flow of gemstones, including selection, resizing, and certification processes.
4. Cultivate and maintain relationships with gemstone suppliers, workshops, and laboratories.
5. Participate in cross-functional projects such as gemstone traceability and Responsible Jewellery Council certification.
6. Lead and develop a team of three gemologists, fostering team dynamics and professional growth.
7. Conduct industry monitoring through meetings with lapidaries, traders, and representatives, and by attending professional trade shows.
8. Ensure compliance with industry standards regarding gemstone origins and treatments as set by CIBJO, ICA, RJC, and IFBJOP.

1. Degree in Gemology (equivalent to a Master's level) from institutions such as ING, GIA, or Gem-A.
2. Significant experience in gemstone purchasing and expertise, particularly in center stones and colored gemstones (over 8 years).
3. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong understanding of internal client and supplier relationships.
4. Proven leadership and team management abilities.
5. Organizational skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and versatility.
6. Advanced proficiency in English.
7. Proficiency in office software and ERP systems.

A minimum of 10 years of experience in gemstone purchasing and expertise is required.
