- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards, including safekeeping of funds and property, personnel practices, security, inventory management, and sales record-keeping.
- Train, coach, and manage associates in operational tasks such as POS procedures, return processes, and safety protocols.
- Assist in supervision, staffing, and scheduling, focusing on areas like cashiers, security, receiving, and maintenance, while controlling expenses and adhering to payroll budgets.
- Monitor accuracy in receiving, transfers, damages, and returns-to-vendor to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Ensure security measures are in place and facilities comply with safety codes.
- Conduct regular inventory cycle counts.
- Coordinate communication between the store and central distribution or corporate inventory control.
- Produce and maintain operational reports and records.
- Organize and manage back-of-house operations.
- Oversee store opening/closing and security procedures.
- Assist in recruiting and hiring qualified applicants.
- Ensure timely submission of new hire, benefit enrollment, and employee change forms.
- Assist with staffing, payroll management, and scheduling compliance.
- Address and resolve issues affecting store service, efficiency, and productivity.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Exercise judgment and discretion in daily store operations.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned.
- 5+ years of retail store management experience with a strong operations background.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle merchandise and fixtures.
- Willingness to adhere to company policies, procedures, regulations, and standards.
- Availability to travel as needed.
- Proficiency in managing store operations, including payroll, customer service, shipping/receiving, alterations, and facilities management.
- Ability to produce and maintain workforce records and documentation.
- Competence in operating necessary equipment, including POS systems, inventory control systems, and office equipment.
- Effective communication skills to provide clear instructions and listen attentively.
Minimum of 3 years in a similar role within retail store management.
