Christian Dior Fabric Sourcing and Development Manager

- Oversee the sourcing and development of materials in collaboration with the Studio, Purchasing, and Production teams.
- Participate in material briefings with the Studio and propose materials for prototypes.
- Launch and monitor the development of fabrics, including woven, jersey, linings, and specific treatments.
- Manage supplier relationships autonomously, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
- Coordinate special colors and prints with the graphic designer.
- Serve as the daily point of contact for material-related topics with the Studio and Artistic Direction.
- Regularly present development progress and provide post-fitting debriefs and technical adjustments.
- Collaborate closely with the Fabric Purchasing Manager and Production to ensure feasibility, quality, timelines, and cost control.
- Directly manage a Fabric Developer, strategically prioritize tasks, and supervise material tracking tools and studio organization.
- Advanced degree in textiles, fashion, or textile engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of significant experience in material sourcing and development, preferably within a luxury fashion house.
- Proven expertise in woven and jersey fabrics.
- Strong understanding of industrial constraints and industrialization challenges.
- Developed product vision and strong aesthetic sense.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and interact with high-level stakeholders.
- Rigorous, responsive, with strong multi-project management skills.
- Leadership and management skills.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in material development and sourcing processes.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
Minimum of 10 years in fabric sourcing and development, ideally within a luxury fashion house.
Advanced degree in textiles, fashion, or textile engineering.
