Chanel Market Financial Controller

- Lead the preparation of financial statements and oversee auditing and investigations for the Korean market, reporting directly to the Market CFO.
- Generate monthly financial closing reports, ensuring adherence to accounting policies and procedures in collaboration with Financial Business Services.
- Monitor and enhance analytical tools and reports to support the company's financial management.
- Serve as the primary contact for tax authorities, managing audits and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Oversee customs audits, ensuring compliance with import and export regulations.
- Act as the liaison with government agencies, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and incentives.
- Lead the implementation of a new ERP system, managing diverse stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition.
- Develop and mentor the market finance and FBS team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with internal control and risk management teams to identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Manage relationships with service providers to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Qualified accountant with at least 15 years of post-qualification experience.
- Solid experience in IFRS and K-GAAP.
- Experience in tax accounting, particularly with NTS and customs.
- CPA / CMA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Expertise in local tax regulation, government audits, and customs compliance.
- Ability to drive change and evaluate the status quo.
- Strong interpersonal skills for professional engagement with stakeholders.
- Collaborative skills for cross-functional teamwork.
- Experience with Hyperion, TM1, and ERP systems (AX) preferred.
- Fluency in Korean and English.
15+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within multinational organizations and the retail industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
