Chanel Legal Intern — Distribution & Competition

Chanel is an independent, privately held global maison renowned for haute couture, ready-to-wear, accessories, fragrance and beauty. 1. Support the Corporate Legal team on distribution and competition law matters, including selective distribution networks, agency and commercial agreements.
2. Conduct French and EU competition law research and prepare concise legal memoranda and risk assessments for business stakeholders.
3. Draft and review commercial contracts and ancillary documents (distribution agreements, NDAs, supplier letters, compliance clauses) under supervision.
4. Monitor regulatory and case-law developments in antitrust and distribution, summarise implications and propose practical guidance for internal teams.
5. Assist with compliance projects, internal trainings, due diligence exercises and responses to regulatory or litigation requests.
6. Prepare presentation materials and briefing notes for cross-functional meetings; coordinate information flows with sales, compliance and operations teams.

1. Currently enrolled in a Master 1 or Master 2 (or equivalent) in Law with a specialization or strong interest in competition/antitrust and commercial law.
2. Excellent academic record and demonstrable coursework or prior internships in competition law, commercial contracts or corporate law.
3. Strong drafting and analytical abilities with attention to legal risk and commercial impact.
4. High level of discretion, professionalism and the ability to work with senior stakeholders across functions.
5. Availability to commence the internship in July 2026 and to comply with French internship regulations.

Prior internship experience (1+ internships) in a law firm or in-house legal department with exposure to competition/antitrust or commercial contracts is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Enrolled in a university Master's programme in Law (Master 1 or Master 2) with a focus on business law, competition/antitrust law or commercial law.
