1. Own the technical vision and architecture for the data platform, ensuring scalability, reliability and security across analytical and operational use cases.
2. Design, build and optimise robust ETL/ELT pipelines and data models to support reporting, analytics, machine learning and product teams.
3. Lead and mentor a small team of data engineers; drive best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD and observability.
4. Collaborate closely with data scientists, BI teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into pragmatic technical solutions and measurable outcomes.
5. Define and enforce data governance, lineage and quality processes in partnership with data stewardship and privacy teams.
6. Evaluate and introduce appropriate cloud services, frameworks and tooling to reduce technical debt and accelerate delivery.
7. Troubleshoot platform incidents, perform capacity planning and implement monitoring and alerting to guarantee SLAs.

1. Proven technical leadership experience in data engineering or platform engineering roles.
2. Solid track record designing and operating production data platforms at scale.
3. Strong programming proficiency and system design capability.
4. Experience mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices across teams.
5. Comfort working with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced, product-oriented environment.
