Chanel Alterations Specialist

1. Produce high-quality altered merchandise within established time frame standards.
2. Provide excellent service while establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
3. Work effectively with associates and management in the boutique.
4. Fit garments with clients and alter a wide range of garments.
5. Organize and maintain client-owned pieces in line with Chanel's expectations.
6. Interact with clients to suggest styling and fitting advice.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Chanel-specific alteration techniques.
8. Ensure sewing machines and other equipment are in proper working order.
9. Build positive team relationships to inspire trust and teamwork.
10. Alter or repair clients' garments, including hemming, mending, lengthening, and adjusting seams.
11. Fit garments on clients to determine necessary alterations.
12. Construct garments according to clients’ specifications and preferences.
13. Label clients' garments and record required alterations.
14. Communicate with clients to determine their specifications, needs, and preferences.
15. Use irons and pressing machines to remove creases from garments.

1. Minimum 5 years of alterations experience in a luxury retail environment preferred.
2. Sound knowledge of various fabrics and sewing techniques.
3. Ability to work under time constraints.
4. Effective communication skills.
5. Exceptional client service skills.
6. Detail-oriented.

1. Strong technical background in specialty skills such as leather, knits, double-face, beading, fine tailoring, and buttonholes.
2. Attention to detail.
3. Service-minded approach.
4. Ability to thrive in a team environment and work collaboratively.
5. Understanding of and passion for client experience.
6. Excellent communication skills.
7. Foreign language skills preferred but not required.

A minimum of 5 years of related experience in alterations within a luxury retail environment is preferred.

Minimum High School Diploma

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. Additional compensation may include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
