- Review quantitative formulas and gather raw material documentation from contract manufacturers, sharing data with the LVMH Homologation team to support safety evaluations and ensure compliance with global regulatory and toxicological requirements.
- Process formulas and raw material documentation to ensure they meet validation requirements, promptly flagging issues to R&D Chemists for timely resolution and compliance.
- Develop and maintain Benefit’s Raw Material Restriction List, monitoring formulas under development and notifying the Manager, Regulatory – Product Validation, and R&D Chemist of any non-compliance.
- Distribute current Benefit and LVMH Restriction Lists to R&D Chemists and contract manufacturers, providing guidance to ensure understanding and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Track formula validation timelines in the web-based project management planning system (Sopheon), ensuring all activities are completed on schedule to support product launch, and escalate any delays or issues to the direct manager.
- Attend Integrated Timeline, Project Handoff, and Project Check-In meetings to provide updates on formula validation progress, ensuring alignment with the overall project timeline.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, product validation, quality assurance/control, and/or R&D.
- Experience with cosmetic formulation/raw materials, raw material documentation, formula validation, and regulatory standards.
- Familiarity with safety assessments, certifications, and compliance processes for raw materials and finished products.
- Knowledge of testing methods such as heavy metal testing and PCR, and an understanding of testing documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software, particularly Sopheon.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to compliance and quality standards.
A minimum of 3 years in regulatory compliance, product validation, quality assurance/control, or R&D within the cosmetics industry.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field.
The target salary range for this position in California is $33.65/hr - $41.60/hr, with eligibility for an annual bonus.
