Audemars Piguet Laser Production Technician
A Swiss luxury precision manufacture based in the Vallée de Joux, specialising in high‑precision mechanical and optical components for the watchmaking and luxury goods sectors. - Set up, operate and programme industrial laser systems (micro‑ and macro‑machining) for production runs and prototypes.
- Perform first‑article checks, in‑process inspections and final quality control to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Carry out routine maintenance, calibration and basic troubleshooting of laser equipment and ancillary CNC tooling.
- Collaborate with engineering and production planning to optimise laser parameters, process flow and cycle times.
- Maintain precise production documentation, traceability records and inspection reports in line with quality management procedures.
- Implement and uphold laser safety protocols and housekeeping standards within the production area.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at yield, throughput and cost control.
- Technical diploma in precision mechanics, mechatronics, industrial maintenance or equivalent vocational qualification.
- Proven competence operating laser machining equipment and interpreting technical drawings.
- Familiarity with quality systems and inspection techniques relevant to precision manufacturing (e.g. ISO 9001 practices).
- Good manual dexterity and a rigorous, detail‑oriented approach to dimensional control and finishing.
- Ability to read and understand G‑code or basic CNC programming is desirable.
- Laser micromachining (micro‑cutting, engraving, ablation)
- Operation of fiber and pulsed laser systems
- CNC machine operation and G‑code familiarity
- Metrology instruments: CMM, optical profilometer, micrometres
- SolidWorks (familiarity preferred)
- Basic PLC knowledge
- Laser safety procedures (Class 1–4 awareness)
- Production documentation and traceability
Typically 3–5 years in precision manufacturing, watchmaking component production, or industrial laser machining, with hands‑on experience running production laser systems and performing dimensional inspection.
Vocational diploma (e.g. Federal VET) or technical certificate in precision mechanics, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or equivalent.
