1. Identify, assess, and evaluate Japanese local eyewear manufacturers to ensure product quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
2. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement through KPI monitoring.
3. Ensure eyewear products are developed by selected manufacturers in a timely manner and according to technical and quality specifications.
4. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable deals while maintaining quality standards.
5. Conduct market research on industry trends, emerging eyewear designs, and new materials to ensure competitiveness.
6. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure products meet required quality standards in aesthetics and functionality.
7. Manage budgets, monitor cost-saving opportunities, and align procurement processes with financial goals.
8. Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, including import/export requirements and product certifications.
9. Collaborate with R&D, Technical, and Planning teams to understand product requirements and timelines.

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain management related fields.
2. Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience in the optical industry.
3. Strong understanding of eyewear product technical features and development process.

1. Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
2. In-depth knowledge of the Japanese supply chain and manufacturing fields.
3. Fluency in Japanese and English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Analytical mindset with attention to detail and focus on cost-efficiency.
5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Power BI, and PLM.
7. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

A minimum of 5 years of procurement experience in the optical industry is required, with a strong understanding of eyewear product technical features and development processes.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain management related fields.
