Eyewear Procurement Manager

- Identify, assess, and evaluate Japanese local eyewear manufacturers to ensure product quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement through KPI monitoring.
- Ensure eyewear products are developed by selected manufacturers in a timely manner and according to technical and quality specifications.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable deals while maintaining quality standards.
- Conduct market research on industry trends, emerging eyewear designs, and new materials to ensure competitiveness.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure products meet required quality standards in aesthetics and functionality.
- Manage budgets, monitor cost-saving opportunities, and align procurement processes with financial goals.
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, including import/export requirements and product certifications.
- Collaborate with R&D, Technical, and Planning teams to understand product requirements and timelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain management related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience in the optical industry.
- Strong understanding of eyewear product technical features and development process.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the Japanese supply chain and manufacturing fields.
- Fluency in Japanese and English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and focus on cost-efficiency.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Power BI, and PLM.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
A minimum of 5 years of procurement experience in the optical industry is required, with a strong understanding of eyewear product technical features and development processes.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain management related fields.
