Swatch Group Senior Accountant
The Swatch Group, a prominent global entity in the luxury watch industry, encompasses a diverse portfolio of esteemed Swiss watch brands including Swatch, Omega, Longines, Tissot, Hamilton, Certina, Rado, and Balmain. Operating within the Netherlands, The Swatch Group Netherlands serves as the sales organization for these brands, distributing to independent jewelers and major retail chains. The company also manages a growing number of proprietary retail outlets, such as Swatch Stores and Shop-in-Shop corners in prestigious locations like the Bijenkorf and the Tourbillon Boutique in Amsterdam.
- Manage and process financial transactions within the general ledger.
- Oversee and maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Reconcile ledger balances and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings in accordance with Dutch GAAP.
- Handle fiscal declarations, including corporate tax, VAT, and payroll taxes.
- Prepare periodic payment batches for executive authorization.
- Administer and manage the capital expenditure portfolio.
- Serve as the primary contact for compliance matters, including audits and tax filings, with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience as a Senior Accountant.
- Experience within a retail organization is advantageous.
- Attention to detail with the ability to maintain a holistic view.
- Strong communication skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Proactive and self-initiating approach.
- Proficiency in IT systems such as SAP, SAP BW, and Office 365, with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent command of Dutch and good proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
Proven experience in a senior accounting role, ideally within the retail sector.
Bachelor's degree in finance or a related discipline.
