Swatch Group Construction Business Controller

- Conduct comprehensive audits of capital expenditures on construction projects to ensure compliance with corporate policies and budget alignment.
- Monitor and analyze project costs, guiding Project Managers through capital expenditure requests and variance explanations.
- Oversee Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting and job-costing processes, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Secure financial data through regular database backups and adherence to internal controls.
- Perform due diligence on all bids and contracts, maintaining a historical cost database for construction projects.
- Ensure brand databases and budget items are accurately updated and notated.
- Create and maintain a detailed masterplan of all projects, providing weekly updates.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure timely permit applications and address any delays.
- Review project timelines, specifications, and schedules to meet established deadlines.
- Calculate statistical information and variances related to projects, ensuring adherence to departmental processes.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting packages and monthly analyses for the monthly close.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting.
- Familiarity with construction project management.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and budgeting.
- Experience with SAP financial systems.
- Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Thorough understanding of accounting and finance principles.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, advanced functions).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret and analyze construction data, budgets, and financial reports.
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing responsibilities or conditions.
A minimum of 3-5 years in accounting, with familiarity in construction project management and financial systems such as SAP.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
