1. Provide legal counsel on compliance related to the collection and use of personal information, adhering to laws such as CCPA, COPPA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, CASL, PIPEDA, MoCRA, GDPR, and state privacy laws.
2. Guide generative AI initiatives, participate in the Responsible AI Committee, and advise on AI law developments.
3. Develop and update privacy programs, ensuring compliance with privacy and data protection laws.
4. Manage regulatory responses and foster a culture of privacy awareness and education.
5. Negotiate data processing agreements and improve standard forms and internal resources.
6. Lead data privacy incident responses in collaboration with the Cybersecurity team.
7. Manage privacy-related litigation and legal disputes.
8. Oversee a team of privacy professionals and the enterprise data privacy compliance program.
9. Collaborate with Sephora Global on privacy projects and provide KPIs to the Global Privacy team.
10. Attend industry group privacy meetings and advise on privacy legislation impacts.

1. Minimum of 8 years' experience in privacy law, preferably within the retail industry.
2. Strong academic credentials and training at a major national law firm; in-house experience is advantageous.
3. California Bar membership required.

A minimum of 8 years in privacy law, with a preference for experience in the retail industry.

California Bar Membership; CIPP preferred.

The annual base salary range is $216,920.00 - $242,440.00, with eligibility for bonuses.
