Sephora Marketplace Engineering Intern

- Develop Java-based APIs, web-hooks, and API gateways such as Apigee.
- Contribute to system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, and performance of Sephora.com and commerce APIs.
- Analyze and troubleshoot large data sets like product catalogs and inventory feeds.
- Engage in tactical decision-making to support Sephora's strategic direction in IT and Engineering.
- Graduating in 2026 or 2027 with an undergraduate or graduate degree.
- Permanent residency and work eligibility in the U.S.
- Availability from June 1 to August 14, 2026, including a one-week on-site experience in San Francisco.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot framework for developing microservices.
- Basic knowledge of AI, Model-Context Protocol, and software 2.0.
- Familiarity with design patterns such as circuit breaker, Backend For Frontend (BFF), Saga, and CQRS.
- Experience with AI pair programming tools like GitHub Copilot.
- Knowledge of API-gateway, Kafka, and event-driven architecture.
- Competence in Oracle, MySQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Ability to write and call RESTful APIs and web-hooks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
No prior professional experience required, but relevant coursework or projects in software engineering and development are beneficial.
Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree, graduating in 2026 or 2027.
The target hourly pay for this position is $25.00 per hour, with the actual pay depending on qualifications and geographic location.
Interns will benefit from a comprehensive program that includes hands-on learning, networking opportunities, and career panels. Additionally, there is potential for future full-time opportunities through the LEAP program.
