Sephora Director of Retail Workforce Planning and Business Optimization

- Develop and execute long-term staffing and labor strategies to align with business objectives.
- Manage payroll budgets and ensure optimal store capacity across over 130 retail locations in Canada.
- Collaborate with leadership on retail workload initiatives to meet business goals.
- Lead budget cycles and identify opportunities for store optimization.
- Implement advanced scheduling algorithms to balance client and employee needs.
- Design retail incentives to enhance sales and productivity.
- Utilize advanced analytics to inform strategic decisions and operational performance.
- Establish benchmarks and targets for staffing and payroll management.
- Oversee payroll budget management and optimize reporting tools.
- Enhance retail reporting for senior leadership and maintain dashboard insights.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis as required.
- Oversee store scheduling processes for compliance and effectiveness.
- Improve labor allocation models through detailed trend analysis.
- Manage payroll data processing within workforce management systems.
- Conduct store visits to gather feedback on scheduling improvements.
- Stay updated on workforce optimization technologies and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Develop and engage a high-performing team focused on excellence and innovation.
- Build relationships with cross-functional teams for labor optimization strategies.
- Lead labor strategy meetings and mentor team members in data-driven decision-making.
- Minimum 10 years in a senior managerial role within a high-volume, complex retail environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively across functions and build strong relationships.
- Retail finance experience required (3-5 years), with labor strategy and workforce planning experience a plus.
- Advanced skills in Excel, with proven ability to develop budget models and conduct detailed analysis.
- Experience in leading and developing teams of analysts with a strategic vision.
- Proficiency in leveraging data analytics to drive strategic decisions.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in handling large data sets.
- Strong financial and business acumen with risk mitigation capabilities.
- Effective communication skills for diverse audiences, including senior executives.
- Self-motivated with superior time management and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally to stores and conferences (15-20% of time).
Minimum 10 years in a senior managerial role within a high-volume, complex retail environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or equivalent experience.
