Sephora Associate Counsel, Marketing and Commercial

- Serve as the primary legal point of contact for the Production Team, addressing inquiries and handling contract drafting and review requests.
- Conduct reviews of marketing materials, including promotions, disclaimers, and sweepstakes.
- Manage and update the Beauty Insider legal library, including standard disclaimers and terms and conditions.
- Oversee social media templates and influencer agreements.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with vendors and brands using company templates.
- Consult with senior counsel to analyze and mitigate risks associated with non-standard contract terms.
- Perform initial reviews of advertising and communications materials to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
- Advise marketing teams on social media issues, including disclosure requirements and endorsement guidelines.
- Negotiate and draft various agreements, including promotion, licensing, confidentiality, and sponsorship contracts.
- Support the Legal team in advising on legal and regulatory requirements for personal care and cosmetic products.
- Collaborate with outside counsel to address legal and regulatory issues and develop solutions.
- Prepare and deliver training, memorandums, and presentations on relevant legal issues to internal stakeholders.
- Participate in complex special projects and support other attorneys within the Legal Department.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally accredited and recognized law school with a strong academic record.
- Membership in good standing with at least one U.S. State Bar.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication, negotiating, drafting, and problem-solving skills.
- Sound judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and business impact.
- Ability to work autonomously and handle multiple projects simultaneously with strong follow-up.
- Proficiency in advising and counseling within a retail or consumer goods company setting.
A minimum of 2 years of commercial contract experience gained at a top law firm and/or in-house setting, preferably within a retail or consumer goods company.
Juris Doctor (JD) from a nationally accredited and recognized law school.
The annual base salary range for this position is $142,545.00 - $159,315.00, with eligibility for bonuses based on performance and other factors.
