- Update and maintain online product information, including descriptions and pricing.
- Assist with Q&A for site, mobile, and email platforms.
- Review proofs regularly to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Generate weekly and monthly performance reports.
- Analyze sales trends and brand/product performance on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Manage brand assortments, ensuring timely updates for the brand portfolio.
- Support the Merchant in creating and executing brand and product strategies.
- Handle vendor negotiations for testers, damages, Return to Vendor (RTV), and samples.
- Source and identify new business opportunities to optimize category growth.
- Review and approve in-store brand visual elements and manage planograms.
- Provide visual merchandising recommendations to drive sales and productivity.
- Develop robust 360-degree launch strategies for key brands and products.
- Own SKU creation and maintenance, Invoice Review Queue, and markdown chargeback process.
- Partner with the Planning team to manage inventory and sales forecasting.
- Collect and organize comps from vendors for gratis and social requests.
- Provide support to field teams with category-related issues via the Hotline Online tool.
- Maintain department records and assist with general administration, brand meeting agendas, market prep, reporting and analysis, coop, T&D, sample procurement and management, and brand activation calendar creation and maintenance.
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in retail management or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience as an assistant buyer/merchandiser/planner for a major retailer.
- Strong understanding of consumer trends and behavior in the beauty industry.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in negotiation and vendor management.
- Tech-savvy with familiarity in merchant systems and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of the Canadian marketplace and corresponding vendor organization.
- Understanding of the Canadian cosmetic industry and Health Canada regulations.
- Fluency in both French and English is an asset.
2-3 years of experience as an assistant buyer, merchandiser, or planner for a major retailer.
Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in retail management or a related field.
