Rimowa Homologation Project Engineer

- Develop, implement, and control product homologation plans for materials, components, and products throughout the development process.
- Lead and review product risk analysis and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) regularly.
- Define and update internal guidelines, product, and quality standards, ensuring their integration into test specifications in collaboration with the Homologation Lab.
- Identify and implement missing material, component, and product tests in collaboration with the Homologation Lab.
- Ensure smooth transition to production and transfer responsibility to quality teams.
- Continuously improve testing and reporting workflows.
- Ensure products meet all regulatory requirements, including REACH, Prop 65, and GB Standards, in cooperation with internal and external consultants.
- Serve as the key contact between internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external labs for compliance-related tests and conflict resolution.
- Communicate and document compliance results.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Align regularly with the Client Care Center regarding client feedback and update internal quality guidelines accordingly.
- Facilitate quality meetings and reviews during the development phase.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality records and documentation.
- Prepare and present quality reports and performance metrics to the team.
- Track project milestones to ensure timely quality deliverables.
- Report on quality status at key project milestones and resolve any issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Industrial Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.
- At least 4-5 years of practical experience in product homologation and/or quality management.
- Proven experience in quality assurance and/or product compliance roles within the manufacturing or consumer goods industry, with specific experience in the luggage or luxury industry being a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems and product development processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify potential quality issues and recommend effective solutions during early product development stages.
- Familiarity with quality control tools and methodologies such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external partners.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in documentation and report writing to maintain comprehensive quality records and facilitate effective decision-making.
- Fluent English and German language skills.
Minimum 5 years
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Industrial Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is advantageous.
