Rimowa Customs and Foreign Trade Specialist

- Ensure compliance with all customs and foreign trade regulations, including the operational handling of import and export processes in accordance with international trade laws.
- Support the implementation of self-clearance for import processes and ensure timely and accurate completion of export procedures with appropriate documentation.
- Optimize and reduce customs duties through the correct application of free trade agreements.
- Classify goods using AI-driven tools and determine and verify customs values as per applicable regulations.
- Conduct preference calculations for goods manufactured in-house.
- Document and maintain customs-related information in relevant IT systems.
- Communicate and coordinate with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and internal departments.
- Train and sensitize internal stakeholders regarding customs requirements and compliance.
- Prepare, accompany, and follow up on customs audits and internal audits for process optimization.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of an Internal Control System (ICS) for customs and export control.
- Assist in applying for and managing AEO status (Authorized Economic Operator) and Authorized Consignee status.
- Serve as a point of contact for colleagues across the organization, particularly for operational challenges and planned projects, business cases, and changes in the role as deputy customs officer.
- Completed commercial training with a focus on customs/export or equivalent qualification.
- Several years of professional experience in customs and foreign trade, ideally in an internationally active company.
- In-depth knowledge of customs, export control, and foreign trade law.
- Experience in preparing and conducting customs audits and internal audits.
- Structured and independent working style with strong analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and high problem-solving competence.
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
Minimum 3 years
Completed commercial training with a focus on customs/export or equivalent qualification.
